A Message From
Mr. Ellis:

All Star Families:

Happy New year to each of you!  I hope that the holidays were good to you and that you were able to spend some quality time with family and friends.

As the 2019 calendar year begins, I look forward to observing the continual growth of your children!  Great gains have been made on multiple levels here at Beacon Tree Elementary.  In the areas of academics, our performance continues to lead the way within the Utica Community Schools.  I have been going through a plethora of data and data source, and they all show that your children are making strides towards academic success. Our exemplary teaching staff have been utilizing this data to help drive instruction for each child so that individual gains can be made.  Currently the NWEA assessment window is open and students are able to be assessed for growth.  If you are unsure of when your child is taking the assessments, please contact the classroom teacher for more information.

Along with academics, students have also been working on social skills as well.  Students continue to utilize the BT3 Positive Behavior Support Model to emphasize being safe, respectful, and responsible.  We continue to celebrate students on a monthly basis on their good behavior!  Keep an eye out to see who is being recognized for showing the BT3!

If you happen to be missing a hat, coat, perhaps some mittens, please make sure that you check our "lost and found".  During the winter months, our "lost and found" can get very full with lots of different items.  Please make sure that you (or your child) takes a look in the "lost and found" for any missing items.  All remaining items going into our February Break will be donated to Good Will.

January is also designated as National School Board Member Recognition Month.  We in utica Community Schools are fortunate to have such supportive, dedicated, and caring School Board members.  I am very comforted that each ember of the Board places children first!  You can be assured that any and all decisions made have our students at the epicenter.

I hope that your 2019 is off to a great start, and momentum continues to build for your and your family.  Thank you all for being such a wonderful community who supports academic and social growth of children.  I appreciate all that you do to support Beacon Tree Elementary!
